Iran Apple?
Due to the various climate conditions in Iran, different types of apples have been grown along the country. The main provinces which are producing apple are Azerbaijan, Isfahan, Khorasan and Tehran.
As every region has its special weather and soil texture, Iranian apples have various characteristic like Shelf Life, firmness, color, taste and perfume. Despite ShafiAbadi and Shemrooni species which are grown domestically, the famous and popular varieties such as Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Gala and Red Delicious are grown in Iran.
Average diameter of each Iran apple is about 65 mm. The color of the skin is red, green or golden (yellowish), inside color is yellow or white and the taste of apples is sweet or sour.

Variety of Iran Apple
The largest import of Iranian Royal Gala Apple to India. This apple is red. The Gala apple is taken from the orchards before September. Given that the production of this apple in Iran is low. But always have good customers from foreign markets.

Braeburn Apple
Braeburn apples are medium to large in size and are oval in shape. The thin, bi-colored skin has a yellow base and is covered with red to pink blush and red striping.
The striping and blush will vary in degree of visibility depending on the climate in which the fruit has matured. Its firm flesh is pale yellow to gold and contains a few dark brown seeds in the center of the fibrous core.
Braeburn apples are very crisp and juicy with a sweet flavor combined with subtle hints of spice, pear, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

Golden Delicious Apple
Golden Delicious is another apple type which in comparison to Red Delicious apples is a little sweeter. This apple type is juicy and has a crispy texture. Regarding its shape, Golden Delicious is fatter and rounder than Red Delicious apple type.

Delbarestivale Apple
Delbard Estivale also known as Delcorf is an early bi-colored apple with an attractive open textured, crisp flesh. The flavor is quite perfumed (some say with a hint of anise and fennel, others of strawberry and pear) and there is good sweetness with a decent hint of acid: a refreshing effect.

The fruit is one of the oldest varieties in existence; a research study states that humans have enjoyed apples ever since at least 6500 B.C. The fruit were among the favorite lists of Ancient Greeks and Romans. In Norse tradition, a more positive guise was given to the fruit i.e., a magic apple was said to keep people youthful eternally.
About 60 million tons of apples are grown globally with about 11 billion USD value. Iran’s apple production is estimated to reach 4.12 million tons in the current Iranian year (March 2020-21), marking a 3% increase compared with the previous year,” he was quoted as saying by IRNA. Parmah noted that Iran currently has 251,000 hectares of apple orchards, close to 230,000 hectares of which bear fruit.
Storage Tips
The ideal storage temperature is 30 to 35 degrees F. with 90 to 95 percent relative humidity. If you don’t have a lot of apples, the refrigerator is a good option. Place them in the crisper drawer in a plastic bag with holes in it or cover the apples with a damp paper towel. Don’t store other vegetables in the same drawer, because apples give off ethylene gas, which can speed the decay of neighboring produce.
If you have larger quantities, look for a cool, dark (or dim) place that’s relatively humid, such as a cellar or garage. It’s best if the temperature stays close to freezing but not below! Wrap each apple — preferably with the stem on — in a piece of newspaper or kraft paper. The paper keeps the apples separate. Place the wrapped apples in a crate or bin, ideally in a single layer.
